NBA 2K21 introducing The City Hub for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X

A little while back, we talked about what fundamental features would be coming to sports games on PS5 and the Xbox Series consoles. Though we had yet to see that much officially, there’s a lot of promising stuff on the horizon.
And today, 2K Sports revealed a very big piece of the puzzle for what NBA 2K21 will have in store when it debuts for next-gen systems this month. Witness the glory of… The City!

For those of you that are familiar with the social hubs previously included in NBA 2K games, The City marks the next big evolution. Unlike The Park and The Neighborhood, this mode will now cover a lot more ground – and have some cool new inclusions in store.
The developers at Visual Concepts already explained that the mode will be “many, many times larger” than its previous ones, supporting hundreds of MyPlayers in the city at once. That’s a pretty big feat, and really opens up the number of players you can challenge as you visit each part of the city.
That’s right, there will be four different districts to visit, each with their own fair share of rivals.
It’s up to you to bring in your b-ball skills and see if you can dominate these opponents, and maybe even take control of their part of the city.
Granted, you won’t get there overnight, as you’ll literally start in Rookieville and work your way up. But the better you get, the more stardom you achieve.
And you can always pay a visit to the Event Center, where you can check out LED screens, lighting and more, giving you that “big city” sort of vibe.
Now, keep in mind that The City is exclusive to next-gen versions of the game, but it’ll pack a number of fun features, including these ones introduced through IGN:

NBA 2K21 releases on November 10th for the Xbox Series consoles; and two days later on PlayStation 5. Check out the trailer for the game below!
