With Assassin’s Creed Valhalla set to carve its way into consoles and PC in a couple of weeks, Ubisoft’s “killer” series is once again headed back to the spotlight. But why stop there? At least, that’s the thinking that Netflix currently has.
The popular streaming service has announced today that it’s working on a new live-action series based on the Assassin’s Creed series. No details were divulged as to when the series will take place or if it will have any tie-ins with Valhalla, but it’s exciting news nevertheless. You can see the official Twitter tease for the series below.

Based on the logo above, the series could have ties with the earlier Assassin’s Creed games featuring Ezio Auditore. Again, though, that isn’t confirmed.
The company did note that Ubisoft’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as executive producers. However, it’s still too early in the project’s lifeline to confirm directors or those that will star in the series.
This follows Netflix’s previous confirmation of a Resident Evil series which is currently in pre- production. It appears to be all-in for attracting the video game crowd based on these projects.
Let’s just hope it takes a different direction than the last foray that Assassin’s Creed took into Hollywood. That came in the form of a 2016 film starring Michael Fassbender, using a virtual system to step into the shoes of an assassin from the past. Though the film was a modest success with $240 million at the box office, it was criticized for its plot holes and writing.
We’ll see where the new Assassin’s Creed goes from here. In the meantime, check out the latest trailer for Valhalla below!
