Intellivision Amico Will Reveal Even More Goodness Later This Week

If you’ve been following the news about Tommy Tallarico’s revival of the Intellivision brand with the Amico, you may recall that it was set to launch this year on October 10th. That is, before it got delayed to next April due to complications with COVID-19. However, that date won’t pass by quietly, as Tallarico and company have a big livestream planned.
Set to take place on Saturday, October 10th at 10:10 AM PDT, a special Amico live event will take place. Viewers can tune in and see a number of new things surrounding the upcoming hardware, including a closer look at what makes it tick with a new video.
On top of that, “major news” is also teased, indicating we could see new publishing partners announced for the platform. Tallarico has already done a splendid job bringing in different indie developers for the system, and there’s also the possibility we could see even more Intellivision franchises make their return.
There’s also “new game footage” on the way, which means we could see more of the Amico’s launch games in action. These include Moon Patrol, Breakout and Skiing, amongst various others. And who knows, we might get a little more Earthworm Jim 4 as well.
Tallarico has also promised “contests and prizes,” though stopped short of revealing just what might be given away. Fingers crossed that a few Amico systems might be up for grabs, because, yeah, they look sleek.
A new demo will also be on hand for players to try out. Last time, the Intellivision team released a playable demo for Moon Patrol. This time? Well, it could be anything, but be ready for a surprise.
Finally, a live Q & A will take place on the stream. So if you ever had any questions about the Intellivision brand, the Amico, or Tallarico’s infatuation with Spider-Man (hey, can you blame him?), this is the spot for you.
Head over to the YouTube Intellivision channel this Saturday to see all the action go down.
We’ll post a recap when it’s all said and done, but this is one retro party you won’t want to miss!
