One big highlight from today’s Ubisoft Forward broadcast brought forward the return of a long- dormant franchise, Prince of Persia. But while we’ll still need to wait a while for any kind of brand new experience, we will get to revisit one of the best games in the series.
Ubisoft has officially announced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, based on the original game that came out in the 2000’s. In it, you guide our young Prince as he wields the infamous Dagger of Time, which is capable of rewinding a few precious seconds. This is incredibly helpful as he faces a perilous journey, while taking on an evil vizier and his army of both living and dead soldiers.
The game looks pretty spiffy at this point, taking advantage of sweet lighting effects and fighting tactics, while retaining all the magic of the original game. And the good news is that we won’t have to wait too long for it, as it’s set to arrive on January 21, 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. There’s no word on pricing yet, but it should be fairly affordable.
