Gaming Medium Episode 5 Tesla Getting into the Video Game Business?

Tesla is getting into the video game business. It seems as though the car company is putting together a video game studio in Austin to make infotainment, educational and other kinds of video games. The studio is staffing up as we speak, and we will be interested to see which games comes out of it..
The backbone for the studio is said to be members of the team that put together the program for the self-driving cars. Hopefully they will have better success than Amazon’s gaming crew that crashed and burned on their first video game release!

Nintendo is planning on raining on Microsoft and Sony’s PS5 gaming parade by releasing Super Mario 3D All Stars on September 18. The Mario Collection is rumored to be one of the main bullets in Nintendo’s anti-next-generation arsenal. It’ll bring Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy, which should be big hits with nostalgic fans. Check out the trailer below!

Microsoft and former Sony executive Phil Spencer is happy that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X will hit this holiday season. But several of the top games slated for the system launch are being delayed because of – yes, you guessed it — delays due to COVID 19.

Canadian developer HB Studios has the top video game in North America with PGA Tour 2K21 and it was made in Lunenburg Nova Scotia. Despite mixed reviews, it’s been selling like hotcakes. You can check out our take here.

Another Canadian video game company, Fluxscopic, out of Kitchener Ontario, is getting some headlines for a game that will be released next year that sees a town deal with a virus, which was transmitted to humans by animals. The game titled Mayhem in Single Valley: Confessions will be released next year and will feature radioactive squirrels. Yes, you read that right. The graphics look a little dated and the game looks to be a throwback to Super Mario from the 1980’s. The game will be released on the PC and Mac platforms.

The Sims 4 is getting a Star Wars expansion pack sometime in September. That should excite fans of the series!

Minecraft developer Mojang is owned by Microsoft, but the game is getting a free treatment for PlayStation VR later this year. That could open up the game to an all new audience. Yes, that’s right Halo fans you could see a version of Halo playable on the PlayStation 5. Maybe.
Customarily you could see Sony branded PlayStation 5 properties on the Xbox Series X and Series S.
The negotiations are preliminary, but it just makes sense. The evolution of gaming is headed in that direction. Another thing you will see with the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series S and Series X are plenty of bundles featuring top properties.
That means gamers will have more of a chance to get extra chotchkes when they buy the God of War bundle and the NFL or NHL bundles. I see signed footballs, hockey sticks and signature art pieces signed by developers my gaming pals. The Gaming Medium knows all and sees all.
