Gaming Medium Episode 3 Halo Mini-Series in Development?

New Halo Mini-Series in Development instead of a movie. It was going to be a movie but that was scrapped. Insiders thought Peter Jackson was going to direct the film. Now a new series based on the Halo universe is in production. It was stopped because of the Pandemic. But it is scheduled to start up at the end of July. The series storyline is being guarded, but it will follow the Master Chief and the Covenant. No new details on the storyline, but that should leak out shortly.

Stay tuned to the Gaming Medium, the new video game column that unveils all of the gaming industries hidden secrets. Staying with the movie to game remake, Gears of War from Epic Games and Microsoft will be seeing a big screen treatment. The movie is rumored to be starring former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista as Marcus Fenix. He said on Twitter that the lead in the Gears of War movie is his dream role.

Speaking of secrets, well there’s a rumor bubbling to the surface of the gaming world that hints that Microsoft might be on the market to buy Warner Bros. game studios out of Montreal. The rumor is real, but the sticking point is the IP. Microsoft won’t own the Batman, Harry Potter and other video game intellectual property. But they will get first crack at the game content for their Xbox and PC platforms. Although it makes more sense to bring out the Warner Bros. games on all platforms. But the added content could come out on Xbox platforms first. Those details are still being ironed out.

Also the Left 4 Dead developers Turtle Rock have been recruited by Warner Bros Studios to reincarnate the franchise with a new game in the same genre entitled Back 4 Blood. The game will have the same Zombie shooting flavor as the first with a few twists and turns. The title will be released on the next generation and current generation platforms. With the advent of the next generation consoles on the horizon. Gaming companies are starting to see dollar signs with gamers. NBA 2K21 on the Xbox Series X and on the PlayStation 5 will see a $10 per title increase. That means $69.99 in the United States and $89.99 in Canada. This price increase is starting to catch on with developers. I’m telling them right now, some money is better than no money and they better give their collective heads a shake. Gamers are hurting and so are their families as a result of the Pandemic. Anymore shenanigans with pricing and gouging gamers and we will be suggesting gamers wait a year and stay with their current generation systems. We may also suggest that gamers let things settle a little bit, instead of paying through the nose for games, controllers and the systems.

We are hearing that Microsoft is going to flex some of their monetary muscle and give gamers a break. For the prices of the systems we here at the Game Butler suggest a nice two controller, two game bundle to help gamers settle into the sticker shock.

Whatever way you look at it, cost of entry for a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X with two controllers, two games will run gamers around $1000 give or take. That’s a lot of lettuce in these turbulent times. This is not a good time to try and gouge gamers as everyone is coming off of the Pandemic. Gaming companies need to reel in their costs and realize that people have lost their jobs The Gaming Medium would like to congratulate one of the good guys in the gaming industry. This guy is straight up and for over 29-years has worked at Game Informer, now with the departure of Andy McNamara as Editor in Chief, Andrew Reiner has taken over the reins. He will do a great job and I’m cheering for him!
