It appears that E3 2023 continues to look more and more dire, especially with another company pulling out.
Just one month after committing to ReedPop and the ESA’s reimagining of the popular summer event, Ubisoft has shifted gears and announced it will opt for its own event around the same time on June 12th in Los Angeles. Like Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft before it, it won’t have anything to offer on the show floor.
Speaking to VideoGamesChronicle, the company noted, “E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years. While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to
sharing more details with our players very soon.”
ReedPop hasn’t made any sort of statement on the matter yet, but, yeah, it doesn’t look good. E3 is set to take place from June 13-16, spread across different days for media and enthusiasts alike. Alas, it’s hard to tell who’s going to be there at this point.
