Last year’s Sonic Origins release by Sega certainly did a lot to remind us of Sonic the Hedgehog’s gaming history. However, it left a little bit to be desired, especially for its $40 price tag. Thus, the publisher has decided to up the ante a little bit.
It’s announced Sonic Origins Plus, which is set to arrive on June 23rd for consoles and PC. It’ll feature 12 additional Game Gear titles, as well as the chance to play as Sonic’s friend Amy for the first time in the series. It’s set to go for $39.99 in both digital and physical form, and those that bought the original game can pay for an upgrade for a mere $9.99.
The game will feature a number of add-on content items, like Extreme Missions, Mirror Mode, additional character animations and extra backgrounds and music. The physical edition will also come with a 20-page artbook, as well as a reversible cover sheet.
As for the Game Gear games that will be included, they are as follows:
- Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
- Sonic Blast
- Sonic Chaos
- Sonic Drift
- Sonic Drift 2
- Sonic Labyrinth
- Sonic Spinball
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble
- Tails Adventure
- Tails’ Skypatrol
This looks like more of the Sonic Origins package we should’ve gotten last year. But, hey, better late than never, right?
