Another survival horror game is making its way to the movies, thanks to Atomic Monster and Blumhouse.
The publishers at Behaviour Interactive have announced that Dead By Daylight is getting a movie adaptation. The hit multiplayer game focuses on a group of survivors trying to escape an
unstoppable killer within a limited time frame.
Atomic Monster has worked on gaming in the past, having produced the Mortal Kombat reboot for Warner Bros. in 2021. Meanwhile, Blumhouse is no stranger to horror, having produced the hit film Get Out.
Stephen Mulrooney, executive vice president for Behavior, noted that the studio can’t wait to work with the studios “to further expand the Dead by Daylight universe.” There’s no word on a production start date, or even who’s going to write and direct just yet. But this project seems ripe for the picking with its horror prospects, especially considering how many big-name horror icons have come to the franchise. These include Scream’s Ghostface, as well as Jigsaw from the Saw films and good ol’ Ash from Evil Dead.
We’ll see where production goes in the months ahead!
