Nintendo debuted its latest Direct special yesterday afternoon, with many wondering what the company would deliver. And we’re here to tell you – a lot.
First off, yesterday saw some surprise releases, which we’ll get to. But, of course, we got a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, along with a few extra announcements.
Let’s get right into it!
Metroid Prime, Baby!
Though there was no sign of Metroid Prime 4 during the Direct, we did get Metroid Prime Remastered, a remake of the original GameCube game that started it all. The game features remastered visuals, as well as improved controls and, of course, that sweet, sweet Samus. What’s more, the game’s available now digitally, with a physical release planned for February 22nd. Check out the trailer below!
Game Boy Classics Join Nintendo Switch Online
We’ve been waiting for what seems like an eternity for Game Boy games to come to Nintendo Switch Online – and yesterday, Nintendo delivered. A handful of favorites from both the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance libraries are available for subscribers to play, with Advance exclusive to Expansion Pack subscribers. Favorites like Super Mario Land 2, Tetris, Link’s Awakening, Mario Kart and several others are available, and the apps are free to download.
More Tears of the Kingdom!
As expected, Nintendo came through with another fresh look at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is set to drop this May. (There’s also a collector’s edition for $129.99 if that suits your fancy.)
