Wednesday was overload mania for Xbox fans, as Microsoft and Bethesda hosted a new showcase to give them an idea what to expect in 2023. Hint- it’s a lot. While there was no sign of Starfield (that will get its own broadcast down the road), there were a few nifty reveals, as well as a big surprise that’s available to play on the service right now.
Let’s get started!
Minecraft Legends
The new Minecraft looks better than ever, thanks to new action/RPG elements, as well as a massive world that’s worth exploring. There’s also multiplayer, which means you can be blockheads with other players however you see fit. And you won’t have to wait long, as the game will release for Xbox consoles, PC and Game pass on April 18.
Forza Motorsport
You may be enjoying Forza Horizon 5 at the moment, but prepare to get revved up for the mega-beast coming from Turn 10 Studios. Forza Motorsport promises blistering racing action, with more features than FM5, 6 and 7 combined. That’s totally insane. And you can play online with your friends as well. The game doesn’t have a release date just yet, but it’s expected this year.
Hi-Fi Rush
And now for something completely different. Tango Gameworks, the creators of some really cool horror games, decided to loosen up for its latest effort, Hi-Fi Rush, a fast-moving platformer/music game with style similar to that of Jet Set Radio, but with completely new play mechanics. Oh, and did we mention the rad soundtrack? Best of all, it’s available today, and you can check it out for free on Xbox Game Pass. Tubular!
The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom
A new expansion is set to come to Elder Scrolls Online, set in the Dunmer City of Dread. As you might guess, you and your buddies have to take on zombies galore. This one’s still a ways off (sometime this year), but in the meantime, you can enjoy all the ESO expansions for free – but hurry, this deal won’t last!
Redfall!
Finally, there’s the main attraction, featuring more vampire-killing action than you could expect to sink your teeth into. The latest from Arkane Austin, Redfall, promises great multiplayer shooting, along with tons to do in the haunted realm of Redfall Island. Just, um, make sure you bring some fresh ammo. The game arrives on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass on May 2nd!
