Well before the Thanksgiving holiday, Nintendo has gone ahead and launched its Black Friday Cyber Deals sale, featuring a number of first-party and third-party titles marked down for a limited time, through 12/4 at 11:59 PM PDT. That leaves you two weeks to get your hands on some killer deals.
But which ones are the best buys? Well, it really depends on what you’re looking for. Obviously there are a number of classic Mario and Zelda games ripe for the taking, but there are some other deals that you shouldn’t miss out on.
That’s why we’re here. Let’s point out six awesome titles that you shouldn’t miss out on during this sale. (And you’ll save enough money, maybe you’ll feel like buying us something. Er, right? Heh.)
Castlevania Advance Collection – $11.99
Straight from the Game Boy Advance to your Nintendo Switch, Castlevania Advance Collection brings three classics back to the forefront – Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow. And for good measure, you get Castlevania: Dracula X too. Featuring strong emulation, hours of thrilling adventure and lots of cool bonuses, this is well worth driving a stake into on the digital front.
Sonic Origins Digital Deluxe Edition- $22.49
While some people have moved on to greener pastures with the new Sonic Frontiers, there’s still a legacy to enjoy with Sonic Origins – and at a much better price. Featuring the classic 16-bit titles from the Hedgehog’s heyday, along with the awesome cult classic Sonic CD, this one’s jam-packed with top-speed goodness. Throw in a variety of extras unlocked in the Digital Deluxe edition, and you’ve got a smorgasbord of goodness that’ll fill you up quicker than Thanksgiving dinner.
Alien Isolation – $14.99
Let’s say you’re in the mood for something scary over the course of your holiday season – but those Hallmark movies may be too much. Never fear, as Alien Isolation delivers the goods on your Switch. You’ll work your way through an alien ship loaded with all sorts of xenomorph threats, and you’ll need to stay on your toes if you want to make it through in one piece. This is one time you won’t want to experience the horror of “Game over, man, game over!”
Contra Rogue Corps – $3.99
Konami has a huge Switch sale happening right now, as you can get the Castlevania and Contra collections for a mere $4 each. But if you’ve got a few extra bucks, Contra Rogue Corps is worth checking out as well, with enough run-and-gun action for you and a friend to feed upon. The graphics may not be the greatest, but the thrills are definitely there. And let’s be honest, what other games let you play as a gun-toting panda?!
Dead Cells – $14.99
This is easily one of the best indie games you can get your hands on right now, a tour-de-force Metroidvania adventure unlike any other. Dead Cells is loaded with all sorts of wild combat, as well as cool defensive techniques and wonderfully designed levels. Not to mention the fact that the DLC updates add a ton of additional content. And all for a less than a $20 bill. That ain’t too shabby at all.
BONUS: Dragon Ball FighterZ – $8.99
Finally, why not recommend a wonderful fighting game that you can get for an incredible bargain? Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers that in spades, with a cast of eclectic super-powered heroes and villains throwing fireballs like there’s no tomorrow. With razor-sharp animation, fun multiplayer options and gameplay that will hook you after just a few seconds of play, you’re in for one heck of a battle.
Need a Nintendo Switch to play these awesome games on? What luck, we’re giving one away!
