Just a few hours ago, CD Projekt Red revealed the next big piece of the Witcher puzzle that it’s working on – and it’s a doozy.
The company confirmed through its official blog that a remake of the original The Witcher game
is in the works. The game is “currently in the early stages of development at the Polish studio Fool’s Theory, where veteran Witcher series staff are involved.” It also confirmed that the game will be remade using Unreal Engine 5 technology, so it’ll look better than ever before.
That said, don’t expect it for a while. The company noted that it will take some time for the game to get developed, and asked fans to be patient.
In the meantime, there’s some Witcher goodness coming our way, with the game being revamped for release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X down the road. That could happen later this year, but that hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
And don’t forget some new DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is also in the works, likely to arrive sometime in 2023.
