With Overwatch 2 set for release in just a matter of two weeks, fans are eager to see what comes from the free-to-play sequel. But one particular person won’t be sticking around to see how the new game turns out.
Geoff Goodman, the lead hero designer who’s been with the franchise since it began many years ago, has left the team at Blizzard. He opted to leave on his own, and though a time-frame wasn’t given, he actually left some time ago, while Overwatch 2 was still in development phase. This follows on the departure of game director Jeff Kaplan departing Blizzard last year, along with so many changes applying to the sequel – including the shutdown of the original title, which will take place on October 2nd of this year. It leaves a lot of questions as to what could happen with the new game when it arrives…but we’ll find out.
In the meantime, we wish Goodman all the luck in whatever he does next!
