A GTA Forums user by the name of tepotuberhacker apparently got a hold of an alpha build of Grand Theft Auto 6 and decided to release it to the world late yesterday evening – and it’s getting massive attention.
A total of 90 different video clips – only a few seconds long apiece – have been making the rounds on social media. While we won’t share them here (because we like Rockstar), we will say that there’s some footage hinting at a male and female character making the rounds on what appears to be a similar location to what we saw in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
These clips include several interesting locations, such as a fast food restaurant (which you rob and then get away from in a squad car), a strip club and a metro train, which helps get you around what appears to be a massive city.
In addition, there appear to be conversations with secondary characters, in an effort to give depth to the main characters and how they react. Rockstar Games hasn’t said a word, but it’s likely to be any minute before they start scrambling and trying to get the footage down. That said, if it is real, the company appears to be building something remarkably big. Alas, we probably won’t see what it’s about until at least 2024, since it is just in alpha stage at the moment.
Still… last night was glorious for a lot of social media users that were hoping that Grand Theft Auto 6 is happening. Because it totally is.
