EVO 2022 is in the books, and brought with it a number of fun announcements and tournaments. But the one some people seem to be talking about is the possibility of a new Tekken game in the works.
A new teaser appeared at the event, showcasing a new balancing update that’s coming to Tekken 7 later this month. There was also word that a special event will take place earlier next year, featuring some of the best Tekken fighting action you can find.
The big thing, however? This teaser.

In it, we see some classic footage from the original Tekken, in which Kazuya finally gets revenge on his father Heihachi for everything he’s done to him. But just when it closes in on Kazuya’s face to show him smiling, it switches up to a more modern version, along with the words “GET READY!”
Though Tekken 8 wasn’t officially confirmed as the title, this looks like a teaser announcement for what’s to come in 2023. Earlier, NVIDIA did have a database leak that revealed the title initially, though Bandai Namco didn’t confirm it at the time. However, it looks like it’s finally happening, for a new generation to enjoy.
We’ll let you know what happens in the months ahead. But, yeah, “get ready,” as the teaser says.
