With God of War and its forthcoming sequel Ragnarök stealing the show on PlayStation 5 this year, it’s unlikely that we’ll see another game in the series for some time. However, a YouTuber by the name of TeaserPlay has taken it upon themselves to give the original PS2 game a revisit – but this time, with Unreal Engine 5 technology.
Mind you, it’s not a full game demo or anything, but rather a two and a half minute video showcasing what the original God of War could look like with the amazing technology. And, we’ll be honest, we’re damn tempted to ask for this remake to happen for real.
The tech features some great character modeling, effects and more, but doesn’t delve into too much gameplay. TeaserPlay explained that they “tried to humanize Kratos’ face as much as possible like in the 2018 version and also tried to bring the camera closer to the character.”
So what was the overall goal of the demo? According to TeaserPlay, to “give the overall picture of a possible remake and clarify the expectations of the fans from it for the developers.”
That said, don’t expect an official game. They noted that “it’s just a concept trailer to show the power of Unreal Engine 5,” and there’s no plans for an actual game.
Still, Sony may want to give this person a call. Check out the video below!
