Sony purchased the EVO tournament brand earlier this year, in an effort to bolster its online community across the PlayStation name. And now that the tournament will be back in full swing in Las Vegas this weekend (for the first time in two years), the company is wasting no time in getting that name out there.
Sony has revealed that it will host an EVO Lounge Live Show on August 5th and 6th, airing live from the event floor. It’ll feature a number of players and commentators, who will cover highlights and bracket information from each tournament, along with interviews with competitors.
More importantly, however, it also confirmed it will have reveals. Though it’s unknown just what’s in store, we’ll likely see what’s next from Bandai Namco, SNK and other participants that have big games at the show this year.
The participants for EVO 2022 are as follows:
- Street Fighter V: Champion Edition
- Guilty Gear -Strive-
- Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
- Tekken 7
- The King of Fighters XV
- Melty Blood: Type Lumina
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Granblue Fantasy: Versus
- Skullgirls: 2nd Encore
Those interested in watching can find more information over on the EVO page. We already know that Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 will have heavy presence at the event, ahead of its 2023 release. But who knows what other surprises are in store…
The tournament runs from August 5th through the 7th. Check out the game reveal video below!
