Unless it’s some sports game that’s years old, you rarely see a AAA game go for just a mere penny. But apparently that’s the case for BioWare’s Anthem.
Several GameStop outlets are reportedly selling the troubled multiplayer adventure for a mere Abe Lincoln coin, depending on where you go. Some people are already hopping on this trend, with a Reddit user picking up 37 copies and spending well under a dollar.
The game was officially abandoned in February 2021 by the developer as they moved on to their more successful franchises, but it’s still highly playable, and the servers continue to be up and running last time we checked. (We could be wrong.) But it went through a number of development problems, and even a bit of a relaunch with Anthem NEXT, which was in the works for some time but eventually got canned.
So, essentially, everyone gave up. But if for some reason you never got around to it, hey, check your couch and buy yourself a game. Check out the trailer below.
