We’ve been hearing about Ubisoft’s multiplayer pirate game Skull and Bones being in developmental hell over the past few years. However, it appears there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel for this game, as it could finally have a release date in its sights!
A Twitter user by the name of Aggiornamenti Lumia did a little datamining on the Xbox database and managed to find a release date for Skull and Bones on the site – November 8th, 2022. But that’s not all. Known industry insider and data leaker Tom Henderson apparently provided a green check mark in response to the tweet, possibly confirming the news.
This does align with a previous Ubisoft earning report that suggested the game would arrive sometime within the next year, as it would be right within that range.
For good measure, it was also revealed that some bonus pre-order goodies are in store, including a Bloody Bones Legacy mission, The Ashen Corsair mission, a Smuggler Pass token, a premium Bonus Pack and a digital soundtrack and artbook.
Ubisoft still hasn’t said a word about this game’s official arrival just yet. However, Gamescom is in just a few weeks, and the company has confirmed it will have presence at the event. So, hopefully, it’ll have something big in store. And considering the game just got a rating in Brazil, things could get moving fairly soon. Oh, one more note – it’s apparently lined up for next-gen consoles and PC, as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions have reportedly been cancelled.
We’ll see what gets announced in the weeks ahead! In the meantime, relive the original 2017 (!) announcement below.
