Following the success of Sony’s big-screen adaptation of Uncharted, the company isn’t wasting any time revving up another franchise for the movies. This time, it’s Gran Turismo.
Polyphony Digital’s hit racing franchise is set to hit the big screen sometime in summer 2023, according to a report from Deadline.
What’s more, the film will have serious directing power behind it. Neil Blomkamp, who previously worked on District 9, Chappie, and Elysium, will helm the film.
It’ll focus on the world’s best Gran Turismo player, but then finds them thrust head first into the real racing realm. Alas, there’s no word who’s set to play the racer just yet.
Can it live up to the success of Uncharted? It depends how much star power it has. But we’ll see what comes of it in the months ahead!
In the meantime, don’t forget to check out Gran Turismo 7 now for PlayStation 4 and 5.
