Capcom had a lot of news for its Showcase yesterday, including a pair of Resident Evil announcements that are sure to be great news to fans.
Leading the pack is the news that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake have all received next-gen updates to run on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X better than ever. These include improved visual details, along with a faster frame rate and more. The updates are available now, and free of charge to anyone that bought the previous games.
There’s more, though. Remember last year when Capcom announced DLC for Resident Evil: Village? Well, now we know what it is. With the revealing of the Gold Edition of the game, there’s a new chapter called Shadows of Rose. It takes place 16 years after the original Village, with a grown-up Rose trying to deal with extraordinary powers.
The DLC is due on October 28th, and will also introduce new characters to the Mercenaries side game, as well as a new third-person mode – classic Resident Evil style!
Finally, remember Resident Evil RE:Verse? A long time ago, this multiplayer expansion was announced, but then delayed to who knows when. Well, good news, it’s finally coming – it’ll
release on the same day as the Village: Gold Edition, on October 28th. Guess it’s a good day to get Evil!
Oh, and there was new Resident Evil 4 Remake footage, too. You can see that below before the game arrives for next-gen consoles and PC on March 24, 2023!
