Considering that the company is about to take the series bi-annually after this year’s edition, a lot is riding on Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. And now, we know when the latest from Infinity Ward will drop.
A new gameplay trailer was revealed today, featuring the return of Captain Price and his crew as they take on an all new terrorist threat. The game looks to take advantage of next-gen hardware, while introducing a bevy of features that will keep players busy over the next couple of years, until the next Call of Duty game is ready in 2024 (probably from Treyarch).
The game will feature a stunning new engine, as well as a lot of cool items that will tie in with the follow-up to Warzone, which still has yet to see a release date. Modern Warfare II will also get new AI, something to challenge players.
Modern Warfare II will arrive on October 28th on PlayStation and Xbox platforms, as well as PC via Steam – for the first time in several years. (It’ll also be on Battle.net as well.) An open beta is also in the works, set to arrive on PlayStation (and possibly Xbox) sometime later this fall.
