In case you missed the news last week, Sony has a big State of Play special lined up for this Thursday. It’ll have 30 minutes of new stuff, and considering this is its equivalent of E3, we should see something big. How big? Well, more than likely, a lot of time devoted to God of War: Ragnarök.
And this week’s rumored PlayStation Plus reveal points the way. Three big titles are headed to the service this coming week. These include Nickelodeon All Star Brawl for PlayStation 5, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker for PlayStation 4, and the big one, God of War for PlayStation 4.
Now, God of War is already part of the PlayStation Plus collection, so why give it away for free?
To hype Ragnarök, of course. Timing it with some potential new gameplay footage and possibly even a release date would get players even more hyped for what’s to come with the sequel.
And, don’t forget, God of War is nicely enhanced to look better than ever on the PlayStation 5. So, yeah, giving it away for free just makes sense. And it could hype sales for the Steam version that’s currently out as well.
Not to mention the other games rumored to be part of the service. Shinobi Striker is actually a fun multiplayer romp; and Nickelodeon All Star Brawl could get a nice secondary push from the service, especially with rumored new fighters joining the fray.
We’ll see what State of Play brings in just a few days! Check out the God of War: Ragnarök trailer below to get hyped!
