While we won’t be seeing a new Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry from Ubisoft anytime soon, the company has some pretty big titles to come in 2022, leading into a potentially big year for next year as well.
The publisher confirmed, finally, that Skull & Bones, its long-delayed multiplayer pirate game, will finally arrive this year. No word yet if they’ll release a beta first, but it would make sense to make sure it’s ready before its inevitable arrival.
Also, with the debut of Avatar: The Way of Water’s trailer ahead of its December theatrical release, Ubisoft also confirmed that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will arrive around the same time. The game hasn’t been shown off that much just yet, but we’re expecting to see more in the months ahead.
Finally, Ubisoft and Nintendo’s partnered game Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will arrive for Nintendo Switch this year as well. There’s no specific release date, but it’s expected before the holiday season. It looks pretty good thus far, and hopefully there’s more surprises to come.
“Other exciting titles” are also teased for the forthcoming year, which we’ll hopefully learn about in a Ubisoft special sometime next month. Hopefully a first look at Splinter Cell is in the cards, along with a potential update for Beyond Good & Evil 2.
