A few years ago, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End encapsulated the conclusion of Nathan Drake’s treasure-hunting adventures…until Uncharted: The Lost Legacy came along and continued the adventure to a fine degree.
Now, as both of those games see a PS5 remaster that’s available this week (as both a separate purchase and a upgrade to the previous-gen versions), Naughty Dog has indicated that they may not be done with the saga just yet.
While speaking with GamesRadar,, Shaun Escayg has hinted that the company could return to the franchise in the future – but stopped short of confirming an official return.
“I think we can say for certain that we can never say never,” he explained. “Yeah. Uncharted is a franchise we love – that the studio loves. I love, and Kurt [Margenau] loves. It’s a world we want to see more of. So I can certainly say that.”
For the time being, however, he did note that playing the PS5 remasters for the games are “literally the best way” to experience them. Kurt Margenau also made note of Tom Holland’s turn as Drake in the new Uncharted movie, which arrives next month. “I’m excited to see Tom Holland’s take on the character,” he explained. “I don’t know anything other than the trailers we’ve seen. I’m just excited.”
