Hideo Kojima may not have had the loudest year in gaming this year, but he’s winding up for something even better in 2022.
In a recent message posted over on Famitsu, the famed director of Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid has hinted at what’s in the works. And that includes a “big” title that’s in the works, along with a “new challenge.” He wouldn’t say much besides that, but it sounds promising.
Said Kojima-san, “As the boundaries of entertainment disappear in the near future, I’d like to make this a year that we take a step forward into challenging different mediums and expressions.”
There have been rumors for the longest time that Kojima was considering working on a revival of Silent Hill, even with everything that’s happened between him and Konami. But there’s still nothing official to point towards that, though.
Meanwhile, Kojima Productions, the director’s company, is currently hiring for a number of roles, working on creating “original” and “outrageous” titles. Perhaps we’ll see hints of what those titles are in a few months…?
