You may recall earlier this year when Forever Entertainment announced that it was working on another exciting new Sega franchise (following its work on Panzer Dragoon Remake) with The House of the Dead, the popular arcade and Sega Saturn shooter. It was supposed to come out this year, according to the trailer that premiered at E3. However, it looks like you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to get your zombie blasting fix on.
A rep for Forever Entertainment confirmed that the game has been delayed, and will now arrive sometime in spring 2022. An exact date wasn’t given, but it appears that the publisher just wants to make sure everything is up to speed when it comes to the quality of the port.
Forever Entertainment did a bang-up job with Panzer Dragoon Remake, adding a special soundtrack from the original game’s composer, along with 60 frames per second speed, control options and various other features. So if House of the Dead goes along the same lines, we’re in for a real treat indeed. And don’t forget that Forever also has a remake of Panzer Dragoon II Zwei in the works, though that one doesn’t have a release date yet.
Here’s to a great year ahead of blasting zombies and putting that pesky Dr. Curien in his place!
