We know that 2K Games has been hard at work on the next chapter of the Bioshock saga. Alas, details about what to expect haven’t been revealed just yet. But some new rumors suggest we may be in for a whole new world to explore – or maybe even two.
The leaks come from the Oops Leaks page on Twitter, which hints that the forthcoming sequel will be called Bioshock Isolation, though that’s far from a final title. The game will once again
introduce an all new isolated dystopian city to explore, similar to the ones we saw in Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. What’s more, it could have a much larger world, one that could actually have…wait for it…two cities. It’ll also utilize Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 technology, and has a bevy of talent working on the title, including several veterans from Irrational Games, who previously worked on the series; along with members that worked on Watch Dogs: Legion, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Mafia III.
While details are scarce, an official announcement could be expected as soon as early 2022.
However, that too could be subject to change, depending on the state of the game’s development.
Now, this is all heavily rumored, though the logo Oops Leaks revealed looks official enough. But we’ll just have to see what’s in store for the months ahead. Still, it sounds like Bioshock could be in for its biggest entry yet.
