Square Enix and the developers at People Can Fly have been trying to attract a bigger audience for its impressive third-person shooter Outriders – and today, it’s going all out with a massive new update. For free, no less.
The company has revealed that The New Horizon is releasing today, and will introduce a slew of new content into the fold. This includes four new Expeditions, as well as a new Transmog system, new weapon skins, better balancing for each of the classes, and more.
“We’ve been hard at work improving the Outriders experience and with the free New Horizon update we’ve improved and addressed the majority of player feedback ahead of our major 2022 expansion – Worldslayer,” said Jon Brooke of Square Enix “So there’s no better time than now to start, restart or continue your journey through Enoch in what is now the ultimate version of Outriders.”
Several fans are already excited to try out the new content, which, again, is on the house and will automatically upload with the latest update. No word yet on how big it is.
And the team isn’t done yet, as it’s already indicated that another big update will come in spring 2022. While it didn’t detail what it would include, it does have an official name – Outriders Worldslayer. It sounds like it could have much bigger stakes to come down the road.
