Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise, and it’s certainly covered a lot of ground over the past few years, particularly with Wildlands and Breakpoint. But now the series has taken an interesting turn with its latest project – a Battle Royale game called Ghost Recon Frontline.
In development at Ubisoft Bucharest, the game will introduce these new elements to the franchise for the first time. It’ll have 100 players dividing into teams of three, battling it out for superiority on the island of Drakemoor. They’ll need to collect objectives and then call for a helicopter to safely extract them – which is far easier said than done, since opponents will come along and try to take it.
The game will feature various contractor classes to choose from, each with their own special playstyles. In addition, skills will also be available, along with various consumables and gadgets.
The trailer below gives you a good idea of what’s in store. There’s no release date for the game just yet, but we do know it’s coming to PlayStation and Xbox platforms, as well as Google Stadia and PC. We’ll keep you informed as it progresses!
