Last year, Disney successfully re-released two of its classic franchises for a new generation to enjoy with a collection that included the Sega Genesis game Disney’s Aladdin and various versions of the tough-as-nails The Lion King. But there’s more classic goodness where that came from, it seems.
The company, alongside Nighthawk Interactive, announced that it will release an updated Disney Classics Games Collection this November for all game platforms. As before, the
collection will include Disney’s Aladdin for Genesis and The Lion King. But now even more games are being thrown into the mix.
The SNES version of Disney’s Aladdin, previously published by Capcom, will now be included, so players can make comparisons between the two 16-bit versions and settle the score. There will also be a slew of Game Gear and Game Boy versions of the game thrown in for good measure, along with Lion King.
But the big addition here is The Jungle Book, Virgin Interactive’s enjoyable platformer based on the classic film. Baloo and company will now debut in this collection, with all versions of the game – SNES, Genesis and handheld – present and accounted for.
In addition, Disney Classic Games Collection will also feature unlockable art from the games, so fans can relive their creation like it’s the 90s all over again!
Oh, and for those that purchased the previous Disney collection, you will have the option to upgrade to the new collection for just $9.99, instead of having to buy the game all over again.
Check out the trailer below and prepare for old-school goodness!
