Though Sony has yet to make it official (it’ll likely be this week), the October 2021 games for PlayStation Plus have seemingly been revealed. And there’s some pretty good stuff on the way for those that subscribe.
As expected, two backward compatible PlayStation 4 games will make the cut – PGA Tour 2K21 and Mortal Kombat X, which initially came out in 2015. As for the PlayStation 5 game for the month, it’ll be Hell Let Loose, a World War II first-person shooter with multiplayer aspects.
Here’s the full description for Hell Let Loose, straight from the developers:
“Fight in the most iconic battles of the Western Front, including Carentan, Omaha Beach and Foy and more. This is combat at a whole new scale… with lumbering tanks dominating the battlefield, crucial supply chains fueling the frontlines, you are a cog in the machine of colossal combined arms warfare. Hell Let Loose puts you in the chaos of war, complete with deep player-controlled vehicles, a dynamically evolving front line, and crucial unit-focused gameplay that commands the tide of battle.
Featuring more than nine sweeping maps modelled on real reconnaissance images and satellite data, the entire battlefield is divided up into large capture sectors – allowing for emergent and constantly unique gameplay that pits two forces of fifty players in a fight to the death across fields, bridges, forests and towns on an ever- evolving front line.”
PGA Tour 2K21 came out last year, becoming a hit with the golfing community with its approach to gameplay and vast amount of content. No doubt it’ll make a great addition to gaming libraries, especially for fans that have been jonesing for a new golf game.
As for Mortal Kombat X, it looks like only the standard edition is being given away for free, so fans hoping to get guest characters like Alien and Predator will need to pay for the extra DLC. Still, for what’s included here, there’s a lot of fun fighting action to indulge in – if you haven’t moved on already to Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, that is.
We’ll see what gets offered in the days ahead, but these look like fair bets.
