Though the game isn’t set to drop until November, it appears that fans of Battlefield 2042 will be able to get their hands on it a lot sooner than expected.
Some new details have leaked from Chinese YouTube-style site Bilibili, suggesting that the open beta for the game is set to come a lot sooner than expected:
The schedule the site posted indicates that the beta will kick off on October 6th around something like 3 AM EDT, though there are also dates for both October 6th and October 9th, as you can see from the non-translated image in the article.
This could mean that the beta will last several days, possibly going through to the 9th. There could also be a divided period, with pre-ordering consumers getting access to the game starting on the 6th, and everyone else possibly getting in on the 9th. It’s hard to tell without official authorization from EA, but something is definitely happening soon.
That said, we won’t have to wait long to find out. EA is set to make a formal announcement Wednesday about the beta, while also featuring a new multiplayer trailer for all to see. It’s possible that EA could bump up the reveal of information with this leak, but that’s unconfirmed.
We’ll see what happens, but we will be able to try the game out before it drops for PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms on November 19th.
