The good news – there are a bunch of new games coming to Nintendo Switch Online next month. The bad news – you’ll need to pay a little bit more to get them.
During the recent Nintendo Direct, the company revealed that several Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games will make their way to the online service, as part of a new Expansion Pack that adds on to the current Nintendo Switch Online plan. Though pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, it shouldn’t be too much of an increase. To add to the excitement of the new games, wireless Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis controllers are also in the works, set to work specifically with the Nintendo Switch.
As for the Nintendo 64 games that will come at launch, here’s the line-up:
Super Mario 64
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Mario Kart 64
- Star Fox 64
- Sin and Punishment
- Dr. Mario 64
- Mario Tennis 64
- WinBack
- Yoshi’s Story
These will also arrive in the future:
- Banjo-Kazooie
- Pokémon Snap
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
- Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
- Mario Golf
- Paper Mario
- F-Zero X
The Sega Genesis line-up looks loaded too, including the sought-after rarity M.U.S.H.A.!
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Streets of Rage 2
- Ecco the Dolphin
- Castlevania: Bloodlines
- Contra: Hard Corps
- Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
- Golden Axe
- Gunstar Heroes
- M.U.S.H.A.
- Phantasy Star IV
- Ristar
- Shining Force
- Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
- Strider
It’s not a bad deal at all, though it would be nice to see what kind of price is involved. As always, if you prefer to skip the Expansion Pack, you can enjoy the Nintendo Switch Online service for what it is now.
