As part of this week’s Gamescom celebration, Ubisoft debuted a new trailer for Far Cry 6, detailing some of the back story surrounding controversial Yara leader Anton Castillo, as well as the rebels fighting against him.
In the trailer, seen below, Castillo, played by actor Giancarlo Esposito, talks to the press about what drives him, alongside his son Diego. To them, he discusses the new “paradise” – themed direction he wants his country to go, particularly with a cancer treatment known only as Viviro. He heralds it as something strong for his homeland, but doesn’t hold back when it comes to stating that he’s doing so at a price.
Then there’s your character, Dani, a young soldier who’s the remaining survivor of an attack recently called upon by Castillo and his team. With the help of a few ragtag followers, Dani hopes to fight back, taking control of a TV station and slowly turning the tide against Castillo’s army. The real question is if it will be enough – and what young Diego might do in return. There is a little bit of gameplay sprinkled throughout, so players can see what’s in store over the course of the game. It looks like a lot of fun, and we won’t have to wait too much longer to check it out. Far Cry 6 releases on PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles and PC on October 7.
