Electronic Arts is already pushing for Battlefield 2042 to be a big game when it launches this holiday season. But very few players realize just how big it’ll become when it comes to its post-launch content.
A new report from DualShockers writer Tom Henderson suggests that EA has a lot of things coming to the game over each of its seasons. That’s right, seasons. This isn’t a one and done thing, as the company looks to support the game long-term.
According to Henderson, the game will introduce a new specialist with each season, along with two new general maps and two specialized Portal maps. In addition, there will also be story-driven Hazard Zone updates, bonus weapons (six to eight for each mode), two to three new vehicles and over 100 Season tiers.
Keep in mind this has not been confirmed by Electronic Arts yet, and while Henderson has a solid track record of rumors being confirmed, this is still unsubstantiated. Still, if it holds, Battlefield 2042 could be a lot bigger than expected, and pack a lot of fun for players that want to enjoy its multiplayer offerings.
