There was talk a little while back about Ubisoft working on a multiplayer shooter that incorporated a number of elements from the Tom Clancy gaming universe. Well, good news – it’s become a reality.
Today, Ubisoft confirmed that Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, a new free- to-play six-on-six multiplayer shooter, is officially happening. Mark Rubin is executive producing the project, and creative director Jason Schroeder is also on board.
The game will feature a number of faction classes and loadouts, featuring characters from the growing Tom Clancy gaming-verse, so to speak. This includes The Cleaners from The Division, along with the Wolves, Outcasts and many more. And the game’s roster will continue to grow in the months ahead.
XDefiant will include a number of special modes, including Domination and Escort. Players will also be able to change up their abilities and ultras with different teams, along with primary and secondary weapons.
So when will the game arrive?! Well, there’s no release date just yet. However, a PC beta is set to kick off starting on August 5th for both U.S. and Canada. Interested players can head to the official Ubisoft page if they want to partake in the fun. More information on XDefiant is expected in the months ahead.
For now, check out the trailer and prepare for Clancy-filled fun!
