As expected, this past weekend’s WitcherCon had a lot of announcements, including the debut of the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher series lined up for December 17th. But Geralt will also prepare to make his debut on next-gen consoles as well.
CD Projekt Red confirmed that a port of its best-selling The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is on its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, as well as PC.
Though no new details about the next-gen update were provided
yet, CD Projekt Red did note on Twitter that there would be some fancy new cover art for the game. Not only that, but it’s also going to get some free downloadable content inspired by the Netflix series. No word yet if that’s limited to skins or if we’ll see some special weapons. Or, hey, maybe even a Witcher song!
The Complete Edition of the game will debut on new consoles and PC sometime later this year. There’s no word yet on whether current PS4 and Xbox One owners of the game would be getting the upgrade for free, but we don’t see why not.
Relive the epicness of The Witcher III in the trailer below.
