Last night’s Nacon Connect event may not have been an earthshaker in the world of video games, but it did have its fair share of great announcements. Among them is the confirmation of a new game featuring Detroit’s favorite crime fighter, Robocop.
Nacon debuted a new teaser trailer for Robocop: Rogue City, which is currently in development at Teyon (the team behind Terminator: Resistance) and slated for release on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5 and PC in 2023. That’s a ways off, but the teaser does build up some promise.
The game will be based on an “original story” that follows alongside the events of the Robocop films, but the studio didn’t detail who would be involved just yet. But it did note the following about the game:
“Become the iconic hero whose [sic] part man, part machine, all cop as you attempt to bring justice to the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit in Robocop: Rogue City.”
Robocop previously returned to gaming with a debut in Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC, Aftermath, a few months ago, with Peter Weller returning to the role for the occasion. No word if he’s involved with this game, but it would be cool.
Now watch the trailer below or there will be…trouble!
