With today’s Ubisoft Forward, the developer had all kinds of opportunity to hint at the next chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga. But instead, for the first time in the series, they’re going to support the current title, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with a second year of content!
The game, currently available for consoles and PC, has been a best-seller for the publisher, and continuing its streak of supporting games with long-term content, this isn’t too much of a surprise. Still, there’s a lot coming as it heads into 2022, including a brush with Odin that’s sure to be a real treat.
The trailer below shows a hint of what’s to come, but there are a few things that stand out.
First off, one-handed swords will soon make their debut “in the next few weeks,” enabling players to mix up their content greatly. Secondly, the Siege of Paris DLC is still set to arrive sometime this summer, so you can sack it properly.
Finally, a new Discovery Tour will launch for free for all players, adding some educational value to your journey as you find out different facts about the era you’re currently battling in. It’ll arrive sometime this fall.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
