Considering it was announced way back at E3 2018, it’s been forever since we’ve seen any progress on Dying Light 2. But that changed yesterday when the developers at Techland released some new gameplay footage for the title, as well as finally giving it a release date.
Officially renamed Dying Light 2 Stay Human, the game is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One and PC on December 7. There is a way to play it a day before, on December 6, if you purchase a special edition of the game.
In the sequel, you’re “mankind’s last stronghold in the fight” as you face off against different factions and dangerous zombie-like creatures, while getting around a staggering open-world environment and making new partnerships with survivors. It looks great thus far, and the scope of characters featured within the game is pretty nice, to say the least. The combat and open-world running is also much smoother than before. You can see it for yourself below, and prepare for a pretty violent Christmas season.
In addition, Techland has also launched a new bundle for the original Dying Light, titled Dying Light Platinum Edition, which features all of its downloadable content in one handy spot. Those that want to revisit the game can do so now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. It’s also backward compatible on Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5.
