If you missed out on Sonic Colors the first time around, you’re not alone. While the 2010 release is highly regarded by die-hard fans, it only came out for the Nintendo Wii at the time, so it was missed by many. But you’ll soon get your second chance to discover it.
During today’s Sonic Central presentation, Sega confirmed that Sonic Colors: Ultimate will debut on all platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch) starting September 7. As you can see from the trailer below, it brings back the colorful delights of the original game, but remastered for a new generation to enjoy.
On top of that, Sonic Origins was also announced, set for release sometime in 2022. In it, players can rediscover five classic Sonic games on new platforms, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic CD and Sonic and Knuckles. The game will also have “new features” to boot, with more details coming soon.
Finally, there’s a new Sonic game coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
Though only a brief glimpse of it was provided, it looks like it’s going to be the most photo-realistic Sonic game to date. And it’s coming from Sonic Team! Check out the teaser below.
