The Uncharted film adaptation has been on a long, winding road since its initial announcement years ago, leaving fans wondering what to expect from the Tom Holland-starring vehicle, in which he plays a young Nathan Drake. But now a new image has surfaced online, providing a glimpse of what’s to come – though fans are still mixed.
In the image, seen above, Holland is easily visible as Drake, holding a flashlight as he looks at items. Alongside him is a younger-looking Victor Sully, portrayed by Mark Wahlberg. As you can see, the two have similarities, despite the fact that Wahlberg is supposed to be much older in the mentor role.
Part of the problem, according to a few Internet skeptics, is that the pair doesn’t even look like their game counterparts. Yes, Holland is playing a younger version, but doesn’t even look like Drake’s lookalike with his wardrobe choice. Not to mention that Wahlberg is lacing Sully’s trademark silver hair and mustache.
The film’s release is still a bit off, set to arrive on February 18, 2022, directed by Venom director Ruben Fleischer. But without a trailer – or any sort of hint as to whether it will truly follow the game series’ roots, players’ questions will have to remain unanswered at the moment. Fingers crossed that it turns out to be a pretty good adaptation.
