It was confirmed a little while back that an all-digital version of E3 would be making its debut in June, replacing the physical show at the moment due to COVID-19 issues. And thus far, a few companies are on board, including Microsoft and Nintendo. Well, add another big name to the ranks, as Square Enix plans to be at the show.
While speaking with Japanese publication Nikkei, Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda confirmed that the company will take part in the event, with some big news in store. And we mean outside of what we already know about the company’s forthcoming Final Fantasy XVI.
Though Matsuda didn’t hint at what’s to come, he did note that “we’ll make more announcements in the future, including at E3 in June, so please look forward to it.”
More than likely, the company will host another Square Enix Presents broadcast, similar to the one it showed off earlier this year. During that event, it revealed a number of impressive titles, including Forspoken, which you can check out in the trailer below.
We’ll see what Square Enix has planned in the months ahead.
