Ubisoft is busy these days, thanks to upcoming projects like Far Cry 6 and the new expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which arrives next month. But it apparently has enough time on its hands to take a look at gaming culture as a whole, which it’ll be doing with a new gaming channel that launches today.
Titled gTV, the service looks to cover gaming, and not just its own projects. The trailer below gives players a good idea of what to expect, with a number of shows that highlight comedy, discussion and other original content.
The channel is available across the board on various networks, including Twitch, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. As far as programming goes, there’s a talk show hosted by Jay-Ann Lopez, with a variety of topics covered each week with special guests; along with a comedy show by Babatunde Aleshe called CafeXP; and a special Versus program that delves deep into the world of eSports, with certain YouTube superstars lighting the way. Other programming will be introduced as time goes on as well.
It’s certainly become an interesting year for game-based programming, as long-lost network G4 recently announced a comeback of sorts, little by little hiring individual talent and reintroducing favorite shows like X-Play and Attack of the Show! We’ll have to see how these networks do in the months ahead.
