You might have seen the preview we did a little while back for a fun little game called Back 4 Blood, which is essentially a spiritual successor to the classic Left 4 Dead games. It’s jam packed with zombie-killing action, enough to keep us satisfied enough for the game’s release in June.
Alas, that’s no longer happening.
The bad news is that the developers at Turtle Rock Studios have opted to delay the game until October to give it more time to be done properly. However, the good news is that the company have announced an open beta that will take place this summer, so servers can be tested and we can see just how well the game can perform.
The statement from the studio is as follows:
“Turtle Rock Studios is working hard to make Back 4 Blood the best game it can possibly be at launch and the team needs more time to do this. Therefore, we will release Back 4 Blood on October 12, 2021. We thank our community for its continued support and are excited to share that there will be an open beta this summer.”
While the delay will serve as a bit of a bummer for some, it’ll be all for the better when the game finally arrives. And during Halloween, too!
In the meantime, check out our preview and watch the trailer to see just how cool the zombie carnage will get. The game will release for PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5, Xbox One/Series S/X and PC.
