Who here has seen Mystery Science Theater 3000? It’s always good to let bad movies have it with some of the best quips out there. And now there’s a game built around that.
The developers at Wide Right Interactive (the creators of Freedom Finger) have announced What the Dub?!, set to release on consoles this April. In it, up to 12 players can partake in letting loose with cheesy dubs on bad movie clips, with the audience voting which quips are the best and rewarding them with points.
Featuring 300 vintage movie clips (all public domain, so don’t expect to talk over Mitchell), the game has you replacing dialogue from the clips, in the best, smarmiest style possible. Once that’s done, voting begins, and the winner can truly be the champion of bad movie night!
What’s more, the game provides “easy access and connectivity with friends and family as players can interact with the game using any device which can access a browser,” according to the developers. These include mobile devices and computers.
The game drops on April 8 for Xbox One/Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch and PC. If it’s a party game you’re looking for – or you just ever wanted to unleash your inner Joel Hodgson, then this is the game for you.
