Sooooo…let’s say you just purchase a 500GB PlayStation 4, right? You don’t care about the new tech that’s on the market, you just want something that will let you play your games. And then let’s say you want to enjoy the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as well as the supplementary Warzone mode that comes along with it.
Well, you might hit a snag there because, with the latest updates and all, these games might just be too big for your core PS4 and Xbox One systems.
A new season two update for Warzone just dropped on consoles, and it takes up about 100GB of hard drive space. With that, Activision actually has a warning explaining that this could make the game, alongside Cold War, too big to fit on a regular model console.
Per the company’s blog post, it stated, “Those who own a standard PlayStation 4 with a default hard drive of 500 GB may need to make room if they have the full versions of Modern Warfare/Warzone and Black Ops Cold War with all modes and packs installed. Should you have both games installed and have kept up to date with updates, you may need to delete some unused Game Content to have a successful download and install of the Warzone patch tonight.”
Yeah, it’s getting nuts just how much space these games require for their new content. But this might be a good time to look into a good external storage drive, which the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 both support. Something with a good amount of space, mind you.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone are available now.
