HBO’s The Last of Us series, based on the popular PlayStation games of the same name, is starting to pick up speed, as two major names were added to the cast, filling the respective roles of Ellie and Jake.
First up, taking on the role of Ellie is Game of Thrones’ breakout star Bella Ramsey. She portrayed Lyanna Mormont for various seasons of the hit show, and will now pour her performance into the role of troubled young Ellie.
But that’s not all. News broke out just a little bit ago that Pedro Pascal, fresh from The Mandalorian series and Wonder Woman 84, will play the role of Joel in the series.
In the series, the two characters will trek across a troubled America, trying their best to stay alive from human and inhuman stragglers alike.
Craig Mazin, who previously worked on the hit HBO series Chernobyl, will serve as co-writer and executive producer of the series, alongside Neil Druckmann, head of Naughty Dog, the development studio behind the popular games. PlayStation Productions is also involved with the series.
There’s no word on a release date yet, but it looks like it’ll be ramping up for production fairly soon.
